About the Role:
Reporting to the Operations Manager, this role is responsible to undertake all servicing, repair, and upkeep of a variety of machinery and equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimal downtime, ensuring activities are conducted in a safe and efficient manner.
Responsibilities:
• Monitor and coordinate the processing preventative maintenance program.
• Trouble shoot and repair various types of machinery.
• Conduct tests and inspections to ensure machinery meets standards.
• Record stock of materials and supplies, labor costs and equipment maintenance performance history such as movements, work orders, parts used and time to maintain.
• Monitor equipment and processing efficiency and act to improve where necessary.
• Maintain spare parts stock levels to ensure optimal inventory in support of the processing department.
• Ensure that work is performed safely, efficiently and in accordance with company procedure and legislation.
• Participate in and lead regular communication to ensure effective contractor resource planning in line with project expectations.
• Collaborate and maintain a high level of cooperation with other departments, related to service, cost and productivity.
• Responsible for all handovers and checklists generated internally for the quality system.
• Maintain documentation of all maintenance and repair activities.
• Support continuous improvement efforts to improve efficiency and productivity, reduce downtime due to maintenance, failures and work in progress.
• Participate in failure investigations as assigned.
Requirements:
• Proven experience as a Machinery Technician, Electrician or Maintenance Fitter in a manufacturing environment.
• Relevant trade qualification (Mechanical Trade, WA Electrical license or equivalent)
• Experience in Food industry and understanding of food safety, HACCP, cold chain, and product handling will be an added advantage.
• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills with the ability to work independently
• A strong commitment to workplace health and safety and safe work practices
• Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team
• Flexibility to work shifts, overtime, or be on-call as required.
